Day 4 is approx 60 miles and although it is the equivalent to 2.5 x The Edinburgh Marathon, day 5
will prove to be even more strenuous and so they will be hoping to take this day reasonably slowly.
Leaving Burnham-on-Sea, they will head north east, following the A38 for Bristol.
Bristol is the only city they will have passed through by this point. Not only does it
have one of the best universities in England, Britain's Best Museum 2006 and it's own 3-terminal international airport,
Bristol has also got something for those tourists making a quick stop, especially those who like a daring challenge!
It does everything from white-water rafting to air-ballooning. As Thomas and Andrena look over the beach, they might even
see morning show T4 'on the beach'. All these great and diverse attractions has made Bristol a strong contender for Europe's
Capital of Culture 2007. They even have 'The Rat Race Urban Adventure' which exploits many of the paths and amenties
for cyclists in this area. Sadly Thomas and Andrena will miss this by less than 2 weeks.
They will continue following the A38 for the vast majority of this trek. That is until they reach
Quedgeley, near Gloucester, where they will turn and begin to follow the A430 to their hotel for the night. They will be feeling
sweaty, exhausted but happy with the thought that by this point, they will have cycled roughly a quarter of the trek - 230
miles to be exact.
